Subject: The Finnish Cellular/PMR modification pages To: esqtc@erau.ee, hq@svessa.se, svein@odtp.no, svel@dk-online.dk Date: Mon, 15 May 2000 12:00:05 +0300 (EET DST) Please translate this press release in your magazine. Please feel free to circulate it also by other means to promote reuse of old commercial radio equipment, an aspect of our hobby that has long traditions. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Finnish cellular and PMR radio modification pages OH3TR has been collecting information on how cellular phones and PMR equipment can be modified for radio amateur use for several years now. The concept has proved very popular in Finland. We are proud to present our renewed English pages. We hope that with them also radio amateurs especially in the Nordic and Baltic countries will now be able to get help when they find obsolete cellular phones and radio telephones from company PMR networks lying around and want to convert them for radio amateur use. Most information is for Finnish equipment like Benefon, Nokia and Mobira but we have an extensive link collection to other brands, too. We have now ham software and modification notes for most of the popular Finnish NMT and trunked PMR phones that can be converted by just changing an EPROM and making some easy component changes. Our conversion pages can be found at http://oh3tr.ele.tut.fi/english/modifications.html A mirror of our server is also at your service in the Nordic VUSHF- Meeting in Finland in June. There you can download software and print modification notes. We also welcome any new software and modification notes you may have, e.g. for brands like Ericsson, AP/Philips and Storno/Motorola. 73 de Benjamin OH3BK, one of the OH3TR team oh3bk@sral.fi ------------------------------------------------------------ 73 de Benjamin OH3BK -- Pentti "Benjamin" Gronlund benjamin@ele.tut.fi 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 |-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----|-----| Use our new Decade Ruler (TM) to define the end of the millennium!
